Slack Setup for Automations

Connect Slack to receive automated alerts from Koalr Automations.

Koalr sends automation notifications to Slack. Before you can create automation rules, you need to connect your Slack workspace.

Connecting Slack

  1. Go to Integrations in the left sidebar
  2. Find the Slack card and click Connect Slack
  3. You'll be redirected to Slack's OAuth flow — authorize Koalr to post messages
  4. After authorization, you'll be redirected back to Koalr with Slack connected

Koalr requests the chat:write and channels:read scopes. We never read your message history.

Choosing channels

Once Slack is connected, you can select any public channel or private channel (if Koalr has been invited to it) when creating an automation rule.

To use a private channel:

  1. Invite the Koalr app to the channel: /invite @Koalr in Slack
  2. The channel will then appear in the channel picker when creating automation rules

Testing the connection

After connecting Slack, Koalr sends a test message to the channel you configure. If the test message doesn't appear:

  1. Check that the Koalr app has been invited to the channel
  2. Verify the channel is not archived
  3. Check Integrations → Slack settings to confirm the integration status shows Active

Disconnecting Slack

Disconnecting Slack will disable all automation rules that use Slack notifications. Rules are preserved in a disabled state — reconnecting Slack will not automatically re-enable them.

To disconnect: Integrations → Slack settings → Disconnect.
